ADMISSION INFORMATION

Eligibility Requirements (in addition to passing the examination and character & fitness approval):

  1. Admission and Discipline Rule 15 requires that every applicant must submit to the State Board of Law Examiners a transcript showing the date of graduation and the degree conferred before he or she can be admitted to the Indiana bar.
  2. Admission and Discipline Rule 17 requires that before admission to the Indiana Bar every applicant must take and pass, with a scaled score of eighty (80), the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) within two (2) years before or after the applicant successfully takes the Indiana bar examination.

These requirements must be met, with no exceptions, prior to admission to the Indiana Bar.  It is your responsibility to make sure that these items are submitted to the Board of Law Examiners.

The Admission Ceremony is the first opportunity to be sworn into the bar.  You may not be sworn in prior to the ceremony.  If you are unable to attend, you may request a mail admission packet from ble@courts.in.gov and that will be e-mailed to you following the ceremony.

If, and only if, all admission requirements are met, you will be eligible to participate in the swearing-in ceremony:

Monday, April 29, 2024, 10:00 AM at the Indiana Roof Ballroom.  You may invite guests, but seating is limited to a first come first serve basis.

Indiana Law Course

The Indiana Law Course is due to be completed six months from your admission date.  You will receive information in your admission packet.
